Power Flow Systems is now offering our Mooney "Quiet Pipe" conversion for those early kit Mooney's with the original 1st Generation Tailpipe with a 3.0 inch diameter tailpipe that has a "Silencer Cone" inside of it PFS-16201 SN-117 and below.

This style of tailpipe is currently shipped with our PFS-16201GEN2 Mooney exhaust kits. Our Quiet Pipe design utilizes our most common PFS-8016 Muffler Insert for reduced noise. Some benefits of converting:

• Up to 13dB quieter on take off than your current PFS tailpipe for E & F Model Mooney's
• 3 - 5dB quieter for J models (the J model Mooney appears to be better insulated so the 1st Gen Tailpipe was not as loud as the E & F models).
• 1 - 3dB Quieter in cruise
• Smaller diameter where the pipe connects to the collector assembly.
• 1 - 2 Inches shorter in length
• No loss in cruise speed by changing from the 1st Gen to the Quiet Pipe.
• Installs in the same location as the original.
• Easier routing around the cowl flap actuator rod and out of the cowl.

Part # PFS-80640 is for PFS-16201 Power Flow Systems Kits (first generation) and not for PFS-16201-GEN2 kits. If you currently have a 3.5 inch diameter Power Flow Tailpipe and need a replacement, please contact us for a quote.

Notice the arrow in the picture on the left. This is to point out that the new tailpipe can have two different end pieces to allow it to fit both a GEN-1 and a GEN-2 Power Flow System. The older style tailpipe was designed with a perforated stainless steel cone as its muffler, whereas the new Quiet Pipe has a complete basalt stainless steel packing inside(similar to glass pack).

The Quiet Pipe allows for a better fit and is as the name suggests, quieter!

This tailpipe is polished stainless steel. You have the option to upgrade to a ceramic coasted version, which keeps the pipe a nice silver color rather than turning brown over time. The ceramic coating is a $200 option.

Unless otherwise specified, Quiet Pipe will ship in four(4) weeks or less from time of order.
